The Manliest Men Know When to Ask for Help

There is a lot of stigma surrounding therapy in general, but men especially struggle to make the decision to work with a therapist. We understand that you may feel out of your depth or worried that people will judge you, but if you’re having a tough time in any aspect of your life (personal, professional, or familial), therapy is an excellent resource to help you manage challenging situations, improve your overall mood, and live your most satisfied and fulfilling life. You can learn a little more about men’s therapy in the Greater Houston Area on this page or by getting in touch with one of our team members.

What To Expect During Therapy

We know, on TV and in the movies, therapy is often portrayed as a cry fest or space where you’re judged by someone for your decisions. When you visit Greater Houston Counseling Services, you’re entering a judgement free zone. While we do welcome your emotions and encourage you to express them in any way that feels comfortable, you probably won’t be turning on the water works every week either. Instead, our therapists use evidence-supported therapy approaches that are proven to make a difference. You’ll work with your therapist to set goals and learn the skills to achieve them. Throughout the course of therapy sessions, you’ll learn strategies and skills to help you navigate whatever life throws at you.

Signs a Man can Benefit from Therapy
