Sara Chahbandar
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am native to Tampa, Florida, and moved to Houston in the summer of 2017. I love the richness of diversity that Houston has to offer and that here we enjoy all four seasons of the year. I knew I wanted to be a therapist since I was a teenager, I have always been fascinated with psychology and the way our brains work. I graduated from the University of South Florida with both my Bachelors (2010) and Masters degrees in Social Work (2016).
My approach to therapy is to explore the ways in which our past colors our present and future and how we can utilize that information to live more meaningful lives today. I apply an array of evidence-based therapy modalities and a holistic approach catering to each individual's strengths and needs. My aim is to help you heal from your pain, grow from your struggles, and move forward to reach your full potential. I work with clients over 18 years old from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, interpersonal relationship issues, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem.
Outside of GHCS, you can find me cooking, cleaning, and spending time with my family. When I have time off, you'll catch me away visiting my extended family or being imersed in nature. I'm the therapist for you if you want to talk to someone who is empathetic, caring, and nonjudgmental.
