From Military to Civilian Life—Navigating the Transition Together
Leaving the military isn’t just about changing jobs—it’s about redefining who you are in a world that suddenly feels unfamiliar. The structure, purpose, and camaraderie that once shaped your daily life may now feel distant, leaving you disconnected, restless, or struggling to find your footing. Whether you’re dealing with PTSD, anxiety, depression, or the weight of adjusting to civilian expectations, I’m here to help you rebuild your mission and regain control.
A Veteran Who Understands the Journey
I know firsthand what it’s like to serve and what it’s like to transition out. As a veteran with experience in both active duty military service and the National Guard, I’ve lived the shift from a highly structured world to one where the rules aren’t always clear. That’s why I became a therapist—to support fellow veterans as they adjust to life beyond service.
I earned my first master’s degree in Applied Psychology from Southern Oregon University, followed by a second master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Christian University, graduating in 2016. My focus has always been on helping those who have given so much of themselves find purpose, stability, and a renewed sense of identity.
Tactical Mental Health—Real Strategies for Real Life
In the military, you trained for challenges. Therapy is no different—it’s about learning new strategies, sharpening your mental resilience, and adapting to the next mission: your life.
My approach is direct, structured, and focused on what works. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help clients:
- Break out of negative thought patterns that reinforce stress, anxiety, and depression
- Strengthen emotional regulation to handle frustration, anger, or overwhelming emotions
- Improve distress tolerance so setbacks don’t feel like failures
- Build stronger relationships by learning to communicate effectively and set boundaries
My work is tailored for veterans struggling with life after service, including those facing retirement, adjusting to new roles, or coping with the emotional and psychological hurdles that come with transition. Therapy isn’t about talking in circles—it’s about practical tools, real conversations, and strategies you can actually use.
Staying Strong in and Out of Uniform
Beyond therapy, I stay grounded by working out, hiking, and camping in National Parks. Traveling and reconnecting with old military friends remind me of the bonds we carry beyond service. When I’m not outdoors, you’ll find me gaming online with my kids or getting lost in a good book.
The Next Mission: Your Life
If you’re ready to move forward, regain your sense of purpose, and take control of your transition, I’d be honored to walk that path with you. Therapy isn’t about changing who you are—it’s about helping you take what you’ve learned from service and use it to build the life you want.
