I am an ARMY Veteran and mother of two beautiful babies, fur babies, and a loving husband. You can find me watching anime and reading fantasy books in my spare time, if I'm not working out or enjoying solitude! Being Afro-Latina, I saw a need for our communities to receive mental health care, and education due to the underrepresentation of minorities in our population. While also enduring my own struggles with PTSD, I guessed, 'what better way to help others than lived experience, and overcoming? I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida in Criminology, and attended the University of Texas at Arlington where I obtained my Masters in Social Work.
I use a combination of creative and expressive exercises that create practical solutions and self-reflection. I utilize EMDR and Somatic Experiencing to help clients develop self-awareness, create a life worth living, and enhance their relationships. My desire is to empower clients to tackle life’s challenges through accountability, while also providing the grace and acceptance needed to heal and mend broken relationship with family, friends, intimate relationships, and with self. I am passionate about working with clients who have endured trauma, broken families, and want to create change in their life.
Outside of GHCS, I enjoy time to myself, playing with my children, or watching an interesting anime with my husband. I also love to exercise and challenge myself mentally with puzzles. wanting to travel to see my family in Puerto Rico or going somewhere new I have never been before.
