Giovanni Gomez
Veteran Trauma Therapist
Life doesn’t come with a manual, and when stress, trauma, or unhealthy habits start taking over, it can feel like you’re stuck in a cycle that’s hard to break. Maybe you’re navigating major life transitions, struggling to manage anxiety or depression, or trying to rebuild after addiction. Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to figure it out alone—real change starts with having the right support.
A Therapist Who Understands Change and Resilience
I’m Giovanni Gomez, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, under the supervision of Paul Martinez, LPC-S. My journey into mental health has given me the privilege of working with active duty military members, veterans transitioning to civilian life, and individuals facing trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s in counseling and guidance from Texas A&M University–San Antonio, where I focused on understanding the complex ways stress, emotions, and personal experiences shape our choices. Through my work, I’ve seen that true healing doesn’t come from just pushing through—it comes from learning how to manage triggers, build healthy boundaries, and develop coping strategies that actually work.
Therapy That Helps You Break Cycles
I take a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy, helping clients see the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My goal isn’t just to help you manage stress but to help you understand what’s fueling it—so you can break the patterns that no longer serve you.
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Depression and anxiety
- Addiction and substance use recovery
- Boundaries and relationship challenges
- Life transitions and personal growth
By using a combination of evidence-based techniques, mindfulness, and practical coping strategies, I help clients create sustainable change, not just temporary relief.
Recharging Through Creativity and Connection
Outside of therapy, I find balance through painting, watching films, listening to audiobooks, and spending time at the coast. I believe that creativity and self-expression are powerful tools for healing, and I encourage my clients to find ways to reconnect with themselves outside of life’s daily pressures.
Let’s Get to Work
If you’re tired of feeling like you’re stuck in the same patterns, overwhelmed by stress, or unsure of how to move forward, I’m here to help. Therapy is about learning how to take back control and build a future that feels more stable and fulfilling.
