Compassionate Care for Complex Mental Health Challenges
Mental health struggles can be overwhelming—whether it’s depression that won’t lift, anxiety that feels all-consuming, or the challenges of living with bipolar disorder, PTSD, or ADHD. If you or your loved one is searching for answers, real treatment solutions, and a provider who genuinely cares, I’m here to help.
A Psychiatrist with Global Experience and a Passion for Healing
I’m Dr. Arif Shoaib, a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and substance use disorders. My journey into psychiatry has taken me across the world—from Pakistan to the U.S.—where I have dedicated my career to helping people find stability, healing, and hope.
My training spans some of the most respected institutions in the field. I completed my medical degree at Sind Medical College in Karachi and went on to train in Psychiatry at Duke University and Baylor College of Medicine. I further specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through a fellowship at the University of Texas, Houston. My career has included leadership roles such as serving as the Medical Director of The Children’s Unit at Harris County Psychiatric Center, and Texas West Oaks Hospital.
Beyond my clinical work, I have conducted research at the University of Texas on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression, contributing to the field with published studies that enhance our understanding of these conditions.
Beyond the Clinic—A Life Committed to Service
Mental health care extends beyond office walls. I have been privileged to serve communities in need through medical missions in Kosovo, Albania, and Kashmir, where I worked with individuals traumatized by war and natural disasters. Closer to home, I’ve volunteered with Houston Shifa Clinic, a faith-based organization providing healthcare to those who otherwise may not have access to it. These experiences have reinforced my deep belief that compassionate, accessible mental health care is a necessity—not a luxury.
The Next Step Toward Healing Starts Here
Seeking help is a courageous step, and my goal is to make that journey as supportive and effective as possible. Whether you’re exploring medication management, therapy, or alternative treatments like TMS, I will work with you to create a plan that fits your needs and supports your long-term well-being.
